5 Style Tips for Mixing Prints

“Create your own visual style…let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.” – Orson Welles

Is it okay to mix prints? Absolutely! Mixing prints probably appears like a busy outfit to the untrained eye but it is actually a really fashionable trend. It really brings out the artistic side for fashionistas and provides us with a high level of creativity. It gives you full control of how you can pair things together.

My favorite prints to mix are stripes and polka dots because they are exact opposites of each other. Additionally, I love both prints as a standalone piece.

Here are 5 style tips that will help when mixing prints:

1.     When mixing prints, pay attention to the color scheme.

2.     Consider stripes as a neutral which is a major plus!

3.     Put some thought into the pieces you are pairing (i.e blouse, skirt, pants, shorts, etc).

4.     Make your outfit fun! If you feel comfortable, it’s not a fun outfit yet lol.

5.     Make sure your prints complement each other (i.e stripes and polka dots).
