Monochromatic Dream: A Tall Illusion for a Petite Woman
Before I talk about fashion and style, I must say that the night before my photo shoot, I found out that my great-grandfather passed away. I cried the night before and woke up the next morning feeling like I would rather for him to be here on Earth but at the same time, I am accepting that he is in his resting place without having anymore pain. Rest-in-Heaven Great-Granddad Herman B. Nelson.
Let me say that this outfit was not supposed to happen. I planned to wear something totally different and then BOOM! I wore something else that I absolutely loved! I think it is safe to say that I love to wear pants that have vertical stripes because it gives the illusion that I look taller. I am 5'2'' and anyone that is short like me would understand my plight lol. So when you look at the content below, it is not a dream...I really look taller than 5'2'' lol!
My outfit consists of monochromatic colors in which I love to put outfits together this way. I opted to wear a powder blue wrap blouse and green high-waist pants which exhibits how these two colors play well with each other. Both the blouse and pants came from Forever 21 for under $40 together. I am guiltless when I say that I am going to start collecting vertical striped pants because I can't get longer legs so this option will have to work lol.
I purchased my chunky, platform heels for $20 when I went to Panama for a family reunion 3 years ago. Sidebar....chunky, platform heels are extremely comfortable!
My earrings are from Aldo Accessories and this was my first time wearing them....I forgot they were in my accessories box. Now, I have no clue why I forgot I had them but I fell in love with them during this photo shoot.
Summer is wrapping up soon but that doesn't mean I can't wear vibrant colors. Let's just say I will always wear vibrant colors no matter what the season is. It wouldn't be right if I didn't wear bright colors to match my aura! A pop of color is always necessary in your outfit.
