10 Fashion Trends to Try in Summer 2020

“Summer summer summertime, time to sit back and unwind” – DJ Jazzy Jeff & Will Smith

Summer 2020 is basically here and I can’t believe it! We have been quarantined to our homes for roughly three months now so I am not sure what our summer will look like. I had plans to go on several trips and everything is currently on hold. However, I do know one thing…..I will be stylish inside and outside of the house even for the smallest errand runs lol.

Mandatory quarantine has halted several things but fashion and style have not taken any days off. Some of my favorite boutiques have dropped their summer collections and it was really hard not to buy everything that I saw! Given that, summer 2020 has a few trends that you should definitely embrace. Summer 2020 might be cancelled in some aspects but dressing well is not!

Here are 10 summer trends that you should include in your wardrobe for summer 2020!

1. Maximalism

Wear several bold prints all at once! Maximize it all!

2. Chartreuse

It’s close to neon green and pops out just in time for summer! Most importantly, chartreuse is the “IT” color of 2020!

3. Butter Yellow

Something soft and subtle yet bright at the same time!

4. Denim Jumpsuits

Yes a denim jumpsuit in the summer! Make sure it is lightweight denim so that you aren’t sweating profusely in the 90+ degree weather!

5. Slip Dresses

Slip dresses are perfect for summer especially since they are lightweight and flowy. Very sexy and subtle at the same time.

6. Bermuda Shorts

You thought biker shorts were really popular? Well, make room for bermuda shorts! They are more stylish than ever before! Pair them with a nice, lightweight blazer.

7. Square Toed Heels

Square toed heels are taking over quickly and knocking pointed toe shoes out of the box.

Colored Leather 2.JPG

8. Colorful Leather

Okay so you are probably thinking that leather is only for colder months? You can wear it during the summer too but in moderation considering the warmer temperatures. Summer is full of bright colors so the colorful leather trend is spot on.

9. Minimalist Strappy Heels

This shoe trend is catching like fire! I see them everywhere and especially on the feet of my favorite fashion influencers! Minimalist strappy heels are simplistic at a glance but when you put them on, your outfit comes alive!

10. Mint Green

Mint green is a cool tone that appeals to a calming emotion that triggers creativity and lightness. Summer already brings hot temperatures and the sight of mint green figuratively cools you down.
